Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, who has been Chair of Shaw Trust’s board of trustees for nine years, will be stepping down in the coming months having completed his maximum term as Chair.
Sir Ken said “All good things must come to pass, but, as I look back on my time with Shaw Trust, I leave with a deep sense of pride in our accomplishments. Over the last nine years our dedicated staff have doubled the organisation’s size so that today we help more than 400,000 people a year. As one of the UK’s largest charities, Shaw Trust is proof that outsourcing to the Third Sector works.”
During his time as Chair, Sir Ken has guided Shaw Trust through significant change including a new CEO and the acquisition of Ixion Holdings and Prospects in 2017. He has continually offered wise and people-centred counsel as well as his time generously, ensuring the ongoing success and growth of Shaw Trust, leaving clear strategic vision.
Chris Luck CB MBE, Chief Executive of Shaw Trust said “As CEO I am eternally grateful to Sir Ken, both as our Chair but also as a trusted advisor and friend. Throughout he has led with empathy, determination, consistency, and trust. He is deeply respected by all who have had the opportunity to meet him and hear from him”.
We are delighted that Sir Ken will shortly be taking up a new role as Chair of Business Ldn. (Formerly London First), at the end of the year, and wish him every success in his new role. As Chair of Business Ldn, Sir Ken will not relinquish all links with Shaw Trust, as we are one of Business Ldn’s members, working closely with the business membership group on policy and to deliver Skills London.
Shaw Trust’s new Chair will be announced in the coming weeks following an extensive recruitment and selection process and will be formally in post following Shaw Trust’s AGM in May 2023.
